Overview

Vett collects technical identifiers from your browser and network when you complete a verification. This data is used only for alt-account detection within Discord servers that use Vett. We do not sell, share, or monetize your data in any way.

What we collect

How we use it

All collected data is combined into a composite fingerprint hash. This hash is compared against existing records in the same Discord server to detect whether the same device has previously been verified under a different account — indicating a potential ban evasion attempt.

We do not use this data for advertising, analytics, profiling outside of alt detection, or any commercial purpose.

Data storage

Verification data is stored on private infrastructure operated by the server's administrator. It is not stored on third-party analytics or advertising platforms. Vett does not operate a centralized database shared across servers — each server's data is isolated.

Data retention

Data is retained for as long as necessary for moderation purposes, or until a deletion request is fulfilled. Records older than 12 months may be automatically purged.

Your rights

Third-party services

IP geolocation data is resolved using ipapi.co. Their privacy policy governs that lookup. No other third-party data processors are involved in verification.

Children

Vett is not directed at children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has been verified, contact the server's moderation team to have their data deleted.

Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy at any time. The date at the top of this page reflects when it was last updated.

Contact

For privacy requests or questions, contact the moderation team of the server that sent you a verification link.
